Injured Soldier needs help
I have a family I am trying to help. He lost both of his legs just a tad over a year ago. They have a house built and built to his needs and ready to move in. Now the finance compnay has renigged. One of his pays doesn't kick in until Dec., so the finance company wants a down payment or more of a downpayment (something they obviously don't have). So I am going to try and make some calls on their behalf tomorrow, hopefully to get a name or 2 of people they can call to A. get the finance company to quit being butts or B. get them the funds for the downpayment. Anyone know of foundations that help our injured heros
I am contacting the VFW, Heros to Hometown (I think that is the American Legion). I Know there is more out there if you know please send me the link. They are living in 1 bedroom with their daughter and 2 dogs and he can not use his wheelchair in this home! |

this is a good one, if you get enough people to help in the community you can have like a spaghetti supper or something for a fundraiser, a lot of times you can get a group called Thrivent to match a certain percentage of the funds you raise as well. I did this for a friend when we were seniors in Highschool, after she was paralized in a serious wreck. For a small town of just over 1,000 people I managed to raise $2,000, then the group thrivent pitched in theirs as well. Granted this didn't make much of a dent in hospital bills, but it helped a little. Good luck!!!
