Capital One.. CANCEL!

Capital One has recently started offering an Image Card, where you can download images to their website and place them on your credit card. What a fantastic idea...

I submitted a picture of my husband, who is currently deployed, in his US Army uniform. I was sent an e-mail stating that the image could not be approved for several reasons. After calling the company to find out which specific reasons they could have for possibly not allowing a photo of the US Military; they informed me that the picture of a soldier could be considered:

Controversial
Offensive to people against the war
Cause problems at Point of Sale because it may be offensive
A political statement

First of all, if you're against the war, that doesn't necessarily mean you're against the troops. Secondly, if the sight someone in the United States Military is offensive to you, get the **** out of this country. And a political statement? Soldiers don't make the choices, they carry out the orders, plain and simple.

I am disgusted and disturbed that this company, who has the right to operate freely because of people in that uniform, has the audacity to deny support, or even a picture on a card that I carry in my own wallet. I am closing all accounts with Capital One. I suggest you pass this on, especially to those within the military community.... Give them a call even, just to let them know how you feel.

This happened to ME!!!! Another friend of mine posted it on here, kbmarie, because I didn't have an account here at the time. I have tried to post it everywhere, including myspace and some other military forums. When I spoke with them, I made sure that they knew how close the military community was and that I would be sure everyone knew about it, and that I'm sure they would get at least a few phone calls. Capital ONE!!!
