Basic was the hardest because it's the first time you're away from your SO for a long period of time with little contact. He will be busy without much time to write. You are going to hate your mailman LoL. Especially when there are holidays, the mail takes longer. But soldiers love to get letters. I tried to write everyday and he literally did not care what I wrote about lol. Just hearing from someone who cares is nice. I was going back to school while he was away so that kept me busy. This is a good time to try new things and focus on yourself a bit. It will be good to learn how to stay busy. You will be able to appreciate some 'you' time.

The problem with predicting what will happen after AIT is that everything is different for everyone. You can hear 10 experiences from 10 different people and have them all be different. My advice has always been to prepare for the worst and appreciate what you get. My advice for graduation is to bring Kleenex lol. There is a lot of ceremony and if you're not used to it I think it can be quite moving. Plus you are seeing your SO for the first time after awhile. I stayed at the Hampton Inn although there are hotels closer to the gate. I'm not sure about shuttles because I drove myself. Most posts have cabs and shuttles though. And since they do a lot of graduations there, I'm sure they will have information for you.

Keep busy is the motto and feel free to ask if you have more questions! There is a lot of knowledge on this website!
