I just wanted you to know that I really appreciate your kind words today. I almost feel like I'm mourning as we make this decision to move into the military. Doesn't that sound ridiculous? I have such a heavy heart, but all I want to do is be his cheerleader... it's hard. I would always support him. Even if I thought it'd break me... but your words were very kind and I appreciate it!

Have you spent much time in Jacksonville? DF lived in Wilmington and just commuted, because it's such a better city! But, it's also a long drive. If he gets orders back there, we will probably live in the middle, so he can get to work quicker and I can find a job opportunity in Wilmington. What brought you down from Boston? I love that city! DF is from Connecticut, and we both wonder if we will move back up to New England sometime.

DF and I will most likely be in NC. He should get orders around the end of the summer, and it will be his last duty station before he retires. He was offered an instructor position for a course at SOI, but he still has to get orders there. Just waiting to see! We'd like to settle down in Raleigh when he retires, so it would be nice to still be in NC, but I would not complain about Cali! Much of my family lives there. In fact, I kind of want to go there for the next 3 years, but it probably isn't a wise decision in the long run, and if he can get a non-deployable position (like instructor), it's way better to be in NC and have my husband home with me than be in Cali and go through this again!

I am in Georgia, and he is based out of NC, so we've been long distance the whole time, too. I knew him when I lived in NC, but we didn't start dating until I moved. Where are you? You can do it! We are getting married in September, and finally get to live in the same city (and house)! We're stoked! How far apart were you while he is home? Please don't tell me Okinawa.

Yeah, I was wondering if we could figure it out without violating OPSEC, too! Good job... that gave me an idea of who he's with, and I'm pretty sure they aren't together. If his team came from Oki, I think they are in different areas over there, too I'm doing okay... having trouble sleeping tonight though, for some reason. How have you been holding up?

I saw that your DB left about a month ago and headed to Afghan. My DF left then too, so I wonder if they are with the same battalion

I know about the time moving slow.I used to try to stay up late and sleep all day when I could. My son helps though keeping me busy. I didn't grow up religious either but since a year ago I've learned to be more spiritual instead if focusing on this crazy world. Honestly me being on here the post few days reading post (positive) makes me at ease also because even though I've been waiting on his return for so many months now, the months til his return are Less than the time I've been waiting. I try to make the most positive out of crappy situations. They are worth the wait!!

Aww. Well a lot say to keep busy which I can agree to. I was tho because I was finishing school and trying to move. I'm so thankful for that! Also I'm a spiritual person so I pray for him and his soliders, their families and myself.I had a few break downs but the more you are positive you can get through. I've learned we were built for this and we have to be their rock because they are counting on us and needs us! If you ever Wana talk I don't mind. You will get through this

About Me:
New to the military life, and struggling a bit out here on my own with no military support. Looking for some friendly voices to help better understand how to deal with the coping process during deployment.
About Us:
This is our first deployment (7-9 months). We have spent more time apart than we have together, but we are a perfect balance. I am counting the days till he comes home and we can finally be in the same place!
