I think we might actually be following the same plan you guys are. Jason is thinking of picking up recruiting duty to get us back to Jacksonville, since he's getting close to retirement. I LOVE San Diego, I really do. It's hard not to love this place when the weather is SO perfect year round and the scenery is landscape is to die for. But we just are thinking long term, about how we have no family and such, and that's really hard for us Isn't your family out there? And Bill's also? Isn't it nice to be at least somewhat close (at least within reasonable driving or flying distance) to see them? Our kids miss our family SO MUCH. They cry so hard when my mom and grandmother leave... it's so hard The nice thing about Jax is that the whole area is so sprawling that you can live in either city or outskirts and find the best of all worlds within a pretty short drive. So, it's a great place to settle, IMO. I think I may very well see you in another year or so. We're due to leave in another 16 months or so, give or take. Jason might actually end up going IA like Bill... probably in another year or so if he goes. Maybe they'll end up together, who knows. But at least I'll be back on the east coast near family when and if he goes. Stay in touch, k? I missed ya!

Well....we may not be up for orders, not sure yet. Josh just got word today that his PTS package was not chosen...this is one of 6 tries, if it does not get chosen then no re-enlistment and no orders . Yea, this will all be interesting.
I hear Bill on the leaving the command part though, Josh is so ready to leave this one . If Josh gets to stay in I want to go OCONUS or Washington state . How about you guys?

Where are you guys going to cruise to?? Is the whole family going or is it just you and Bill?

Just wanted to say "Hello". I am new to this site. We are currently at Lejeune also....we have been here for 3 yrs and have another 2 yrs. Hubby leaves soon for 13 month deployment. He has been in 20 yrs, married 19 yrs & we have 2 children ages 11 & 7. I am hoping to get on here more often & meet some other wives from here.I really dont know to many people...........I guess because we dont live on base & alot of the people around us are retired. It is hard at times because I do home daycare out of my home.

Basic Information

About Sarah
Yes, very proud parent
Current Location/ Duty Station:
Camp Lejeune, NC
How I Met My Military Significant Other:
We met in 1996 at a chinese resturant here in Jacksonville, NC. It was very sweet, since we weren't looking for anyone special at the time, and happened. Since we are back in Jacksonville, we have taken our children to the resturant we met at and they love to hear the story about how we met.
About Me:
Well, I am a Navy wife and I have been happily married for almost 11 years. I have two wonderful children whom I love dearly, but they are at the age to where they know how to drive me I am a very easy going person, and I love to meet new people, particularly military wives. We were just stationed back to Camp Lejeune, NC and we are so happy to be back on the east coast, since we call NC and FL home.
About Us:
My dh and I will be celebrating our 11th anniversary in December. My husband has been in the military for 15 years. We have a very loving relationship, but like every marriage, we know how to tick one another He is my best friend, and I love him with my whole heart.
Interests & Hobbies:
Hiking, reading, making key lime pies, and collecting Russian dolls and Cuban memorbilia (since I am Russian and Cuban)
Dream Sheet:
Well, dh will retire in 5 years, so it will eventually take us back to Florida.
