did your parents ever make you dress up in the traditional norwegian costume every May 17th? My Mom did...she made me wear her costumes that she wore growing up. Imagine having to go to school in like 3rd grade with the beaded breastplate, red vest, long black skirt, apron, and lets not forget the beaded felt red hat .

It's no wonder i wasn't the most popular kid in school.

I always wanted to ask you but I was too chicken and thought you might find me a little cookoo, lol.

Are you from Norway? Every time I see your post I see the Norwegian flag and I wonder. I am 1/2 Norwegian and my grandparents came from Norway so I was just wondering lol.

I just saw that DH has a friend visiting for the weekend. A few new SOSers and I are meeting tomorrow at 3pm at artscape. If you'd like to escape the testosterone for a few hours in the afternoon, you should join us.

Torn again on what I want to do with my life. I want babies. I don't really like my job. But I like the esteem I get for having a good job and a good title.

I'm afraid people will judge me if I leave my job to do something simpler. I would enjoy working at a library or being a substitute teacher. I'm also afraid I would judge myself. I feel so incompetent in so many simple tasks (cooking, cleaning, finances) that I need my title to reassure myself that I am not a loser.

*DH said that there is a good chance he will be able to tell me his R&R dates TOMORROW!

*I leave tomorrow for five days on the beach with my friends in Rehoboth Beach, DE

*Talking with my sister and friends makes me re-appreciate how absolutely wonderful DH is and how lucky I am to be married to him.

I would give anything to...

I would give anything to have a big, close family. My parents were big on everyone doing their "own thing" as my dad calls it and as a result we aren't very close. I call my parents once a week to check in. They never remember any of my friends' names and they know very few details about my job. Sometimes my heart just

Jay and I started dating the summer before senior year of college. We knew he was going into the Army after graduation, but I went ahead with my plan to apply to grad school. I got in and accepted, even though I knew that would mean 3 years of separation from Jay.

About two months before Jay left for OBC, we found out his first PCS would be to Germany.

I started grad school and found I wasn't as excited about it as I thought I would be. At the beginning of my second
