How I Met My Military Significant Other:

A high school friend of mine who also joined the Marine Corp introduced us one weekend. It's been over a year now that we've been together and 6 months of it he was 6,000 miles across the Pacific.

About Me:

My name is Clara. My family lives in the Bay Area and I grew up there for the most part. I am currently going to college at UCSD studying as a human bio major and possibly cogsci minor. I also really need a part time job, extra money never hurts.
I want to be able to cook for myself one day, but seeing that I'm in college and I can be a terribly lazy person (I procrastinate like I have all the time in the world and freak out at the last minute, but I can't help myself) this goal will probably have to wait.
I'm undecided as to what I want to do after college. I've thought about nursing or teaching, but recently child development and neuroscience has caught my eye.

I also LOVE avocados =] I could eat it for all three meals of my day. I also got him hooked to them as well haha

About Us:

Chris and I are both very laid back people. Our choice for activities may seem to some very boring, but we don't mind as long as we're together. Going to the beach and reading or taking naps is our favorite. We also like to drive around in his new Mustang, which he is very smitten with haha. We enjoy people watching, so going to the SD zoo is always a fun time, and plus, he gets in for free and I get a discount =] A new favorite of our's is making guacamole!!!!

Long distance was tough for his first deployment and we hurdled through some difficult obstacles when he first got back as well. But we've grown as people and we're both learning to accept that relationships aren't perfect, it's a learning process that requires a lot of work if you both want it to work. It's been over a year now and I can honestly say that I am very glad we made it through. I can see a lot of potential in our future and we've both made it clear that we want to be a part of each other's futures. He's shown me what realistic love is supposed to feel like and I am truly blessed to have him in my life.

Interests & Hobbies:

I love working out, reading, going to the beach and just laying around not doing much with my baby cakes =] Ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and football and most sports are awesome

Movies:

Not a huge movie buff, Chris makes fun of me for that, but that's also probably why we stay in most days and watch movies. The Fountain, How To Lose a Guy, The Island, Seven Pounds, Slumdog Millionaire, Wall-E

Reading:

Too many books to name, but here are some authors: Mitch Albom, James Rollins, Matthew Reilly, Paolo Coelho, Nicholas Sparks. I love thriller books =]
