Fresh Fish Question
DH went deep sea fishing last week and caught a bunch of fish. It's been in his refrigerator since then. I dont' remember what all he caught, some grouper, barracuda and something else. We're talking about making it for dinner tonight. Do you think it's still good? Is there a general rule on fresh fish?

When last week? I wouldnt eat it. Fish doesnt keep longer then a few days. If you froze it ,that would be a different story.

If it's been more than 4 days I would toss it. Things to look for are an overly fishy smell, really slimy texture or a breakdown in the piece, and discoloring in fish like salmon.

Last Monday, the 3rd. I told him there was no way I was eating it. He was really bummed about it, since he had actually caught it and everything. I was not about to get sick though. We decided it'd be much better to waste it than to eat it and get sick
