Spaghetti ....
I made spaghetti successfully for the first time.
::: 1 Box of Linguine ::: 1 bottle of RAGU Sauce ::: 1 lbs of Ground Turkey ::: 1 Mild Italian Sausage ::: Ketchup ::: Sugar I boiled my noodles first .... but I don't think I should have but they turned out fine anyway lol. Then I browned the ground turkey, next was cooking the italian sausage. I had a little trouble determinig whether or not the sausage had cooked throughly, so i cut it up into sections and fried it longer. Then I mixed the sauce, turkey and sausage together and added about 2 squirts of ketchup and 2 spoons of sugar. Last night was my first attempt and I'm so happy it turned out great ! haha ![]() How do you guys make your spaghetti ? |

i make homemade sauce sometimes. i'm part sicilian and my family would prolly murder me if i tried to put ketchup or sugar into the recipe
according to my nana (great gma) - its cheating if you add sugar.my sauce recipe involves a lot of tomatoes, a little tom paste, EVOO, bay leaf, basil, sauteed garlic and onions, chianti. the secret is to use a pork chop, on the bone, as the meat in the sauce. it'll help sweeten it up A LOT. you put it in there raw and simmer all day until the meat is falling off the bone. in a big pot i'll have three or so in there. i umm... boil the noodles, drain them then add them to the sauce? nothing fancy.

Part of my family is Italian such that they don't even call it "sauce"--it's "gravy"! I actually don't care for the gravy recipe that I grew up with and I'm pretty lazy so I stick with jar stuff most of the time. Once in awhile I will add some ground turkey to the sauce but usually I just have it plain with pasta.
