Cooking chicken HELP! - Main Dishes

Ok, I just stuffed a 5 pound chicken with some stuffing and stuck it in the oven...............Ummmmm how long is it going to take to cook it?

I have a feeling I should have started it much much earlier. I have it at 350 degrees right now.

some cheapo cornbread stuffing from a box

I cooked it with chicken broth and butter

about an hour? I never pay attention to how long it takes though

An unstuffed chicken cooks at 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 350 or ~20 minutes per pound. Stuffed add another hour to the cooking time.

No, please don't cook a stuffed chicken for about an hour. *side eyes JL*

Up the oven to about 400 degrees. Roast it for one hour. Reduce the heat to 375, and cook it for another hour. When the juices runs clear from the leg, then it's ready.

Ok....*breathes in and out* Thank you!! That sounds doable...I think everyone can hold out with out starving to death

for that long.

Next time, butterfly that sucker and cook it high heat in under an hour. Serve the dressing on the side, they won't know the difference.

When I bake an unstuffed chicken, it takes about 2 hours. I would imagine it will take longer with it stuffed.
