We didn't have a meal, we had finger foods because there was an insane amount of kids that came. My mind is drawing a blank on what we had tho..sorry.

we're having a choice of ricotta stuffed chicken breast or blue crab stuffed filet mignon, grilled asparagus, these amazing mashed potatoes, spinach salad with cranberry vinagarette dressing, cake of course.. and i just went to my best friend's wedding which was also in the evening, but she just had corn and mashed potatoes and gravy, fried chicken (which i don't recommend, hard as hell to eat in a formal gown - i was terrified i'd ruin it) and a bunch of different desserts, but hers was less formal and had a TON more people there.. how many guests you have can change things a bit. if you're not having food brought in, like having it at a restaurant or country club or something which is what we're doing, i recommend talking to the chef, sometimes they have really great ideas that aren't on the menu. that's how we got the crab stuffed filet, for the same price as everything else we'd thought of to do.
sorry that was kind of long but i'm in full-on wedding mode right now
