I haven't seen a good poll in a while, so you know, thought I'd get the ball rolling.

How long did you and your SO wait to say I love you? Who said it first?

In previous relationships it was usually around the 1 month mark. One guy said it to me after a week and I broke up with him within five days

I don't post much about my relationship, but I met DB this time last year, we broke up in the spring/summer and got back together early fall. We've met each other's family's and are quite serious, but still haven't said it. I'm actually really happy and content with the slow and steady pace of this.

(oh and I hope you have that song stuck in your head now)

I am going to go with over a year.

We dated when we were freshmen in college for 8 months and never said it and then broke up because we were 19 and duh, it was party time in college.
We got back together a year later and then said it to each other.

In other relationships, I waited as long as possible too.

Ok, good. My friend started dated someone and they said it within a week of meeting each other and I thought that was bananas

I think that falls in the whatever category I think I'm just hyper aware of it now since it's the longest I've gone without saying it, and the last guy I very briefly dated for a hot second said it way too quickly, so it's a pretty stark contrast.

I will never understand the "when you know, you know" thing. How do you know after a week? A month?! a lifetime! (jk)

Everything about our relationship was rushed. We said "I love you" after a few weeks,we were engaged after a few months, and married in a little over a year.

I put myself in the under 6 months category...with DB that's when we said it...I want to say it was like 2-3 months in. With my ex husband it took a lot longer lol and I dated several people between the divorce and meeting DB, 2 of which I dated for around 6 months each and never said the L word

We said it at about the month mark. Our relationship was rushed too. We got engaged after seven months, married three months after that. We were older and I had been married previously and knew exactly what I wanted.

On a cute note about saying I love you...my son (18) has been with his girlfriend since November of 2016. They just said I love you a couple of weeks ago. I think that is just precious because they are so cute together, she comes on family vacations with us, they alternate Sunday family dinners. Itís just super sweet to this old mom.

I think it was 3-4 weeks, but I don't remember precisely.
