    Dinner suggestions needed

    Advertisements
if everything goes according to schedule, I have an overnight date with a really handsome hunk of a guy that I haven't seen in person for awhile He should get here around 8pm, and when I asked him what he wanted for dinner, he gave me the standard answer he always gives (I don't know, it doesn't matter) The next time he tells me that I ought to tell him I'm making Haggis just as a joke Anyway, I don't know what to make or whether we should go out to eat. Also am thinking just to tell him to get something to eat on the way (he's driving) and I'll eat at my usual time (6) so that when he does arrive we can do other things besides eating
What does anyone suggest if you were in that situation?

Our first meal together after being apart is always something I look forward to. We usually don't cook on our first night back together as we would rather spend the time catching up, so I would plan to go out somewhere nice (or get pizza delivered!). If you think he'll be too tired from traveling or 8pm's too late for dinner, then maybe eat separately like you said, and go out for breakfast in the morning if you have time.

Thanks for the replies. Although I don't mind waiting until 8, he might be tired from a long day on the road, and he might be late if traffics bad. So I guess I'm going to tell him to eat something earlier. If he's hungry when he gets here, I'll just order something out. We can either go out in the morning or I can make him a nice breakfast instead.

I wouldn't want to cook that late (because I'm lazy ) and if my DH had been driving he wouldn't want to go anywhere, he'd want to relax. So we'd probably order in.

Do a crockpot dinner if you have a crock pot.

Any time DH is expected to be home some time around 8-9pm. I make something in the crock pot. That way not only is is supper easy since all you do is throw everything together and push a button. It also keeps the food warm once it's done cooking.
