    Love Questions!

    Advertisements
My boyfriend and I were talking of marriage, like getting married legally then having a big wedding in a few years...I just have a question for those who are married and in the Army. Would I have to live on base with him or could I stay here at school & what are some benefits? Thanks!

You are never required to live with him. If you want to stay in school (which I think the the best thing!), then you can do that.

If you choose to live with him, you wouldn't necessarily have to live on base either.

DF and I are getting married in the fall, and I'm not moving in with him immediately, because of my job. Not only do you not have to live on base, but it will allow him to live off base if he wants to, even if you aren't joining him. Single junior enlisted usually have to live in the barracks (at least in the USMC). If they are married, they can live off post Your benefits are the same as everyone else', and he still gets the increased BAH.

What the other ladies said. Chris and I had a JOP a year ago Friday. We'll have our big ceremony in a couple of years when the money is saved up for it. We were already engaged and moved it up for health insurance reasons, but I feel like it probably would have happened like that anyways haha.
