What to engrave in a ring? *update post 18*

    Advertisements
So DH lost his ring (already). I am not mad because it was too big and just fell off somewhere. I found out after the ring came that he wears an 8 instead of the 8.75 I bought him (he originally thought he wore an 8.5). I bought him a $10 titanium ring to wear and he is fine with it, but I was considering buying him a new 14K white gold ring with engraving as a gift. He really loved his first 14K white gold ring a LOT. The problem is, I don't know what to engrave in it. The first one had our upcoming ceremony date in it. I want the this one to have our legal wedding date and our ceremony date and maybe a cute 2-5 word blurb in it.

    Any ideas?

Get something meaningful to you. I never liked things that are written in some obscure language because for some reason people think latin equates love, KWIM? To me, something meaningful to both of you, be it funny or serious or clever.

For MFs ring I am having 'No matter the distance' but in there. I will love him forever, no matter the distance, which is very fitting for our 9 year LDL.

That is really good! Wouldn't work for DH and I because we only did long distance for a few months, but I like that! It really does work in your case with your 9 year LDR.

I thought about "love me anyway" which is a little joke of ours...but it looked passive-aggressive when written out. I think I am over thinking this.

If it is a joke between you two it will mean more to him than you writing a quote by Hemingway or something like that. JMO.

If DB and I make it to that point, I'm getting "I love you" "I know" engraved in our rings

Those are all great choices. That really puts me on the right track. Thanks so much I also thought about "twice sealed in my heart" since we get to say our vows twice (once with the JOP and once with the ceremony), but I thought it might be too cheesy.

DH would get a huge kick out of that! He was actually joking today that his next ring should be the ring from LOTR so he could go invisible at a moment's notice.

    DH says "Together Forever"

It is written on my Grandparents tombstone and means a lot to me since I helped my Grandma pick it out.
