    online dating frustrations

    Advertisements
I've been on and off okcupid for a while, and have gotten nowhere. Okcupid will give you a match %, a friendship %, and an enemy %...and I feel like the only people who ever contact me are matched at 60% or less, or with a really high enemy percentage. If we are 40% enemies, I don't want to go on a date with you!!

Or when I say I'm interested in dating people between 25 and 35 years old, and 18 year olds message me. I always ignore or politely decline communication with these guys, but I wish I found some contacts with people I actually had things in common with. It's a frustrating venue, but I want to get out and meet people and, really, I want to get my mind off Matt.

My best friend is on Match.com and she hasn't met anyone worthwhile either. Have any of you had any luck with it, or eharmony, or anywhere else? I might delete my profile again...

I met my husband on hotornot.com. However, 8 years ago, the website was a bit different.

It definitely took awhile but I actually met my DB on OKCUPID. It was totally random and I did meet a lot of mismatches (nicest way I could put it) before I met him...I think you definitely have to be patient on any dating site...lots of fish in the sea. Also, the quickmatch thing is pretty cool on there. And those percentages are skewed. It is based on how many questions you guys have answered the same in relation to each other and those definitely dont tell the whole story. Good luck!

i am happiest with POF. idk why there's such a stigma associated with the men on there, i've met a lot of decent guys not just interested in sex.

don't like eharmony because they don't pay attention to your requirements. i stated i wanted to date someone between 21 and 29, that height was important to me (i can't date guys that are shorter than me. call me shallow or whatever but it makes me really uncomfortable), and that i wanted his education background to match my own. ha.

i would say at least 40% of my matches were shorter than 5'6 (i'm 5'8), 40% of them were either in their 30's or not able to buy a beer, and the other 20% of them can't put a sentence together.
