    Real or Man Made Diamonds??

    Advertisements
My sister and I were talking the other day and we were discussing whether or not we would prefer a regular diamond in an engagement ring or a man-made diamond.

I was on the fence and couldn't really decide. I know that man-made diamonds are cheaper and are supposed to not have any flaws at all compared to regular diamonds.

So I thought I would see what your ladies' opinions are.

As long as its shinny I could personally careless. I really wanted mossinite (man made like diamond stone) but we could not find a dealer when we were looking.

I personally do not want a real diamond on my finger.
First off, they have a brutal, awful history
Second, though for the most part the diamond industry is on the up and up today, there are some conflict diamonds out there.
I wouldn't wear a diamond unless I knew for sure where it came from. And the only way I can think to do that is to wear only manmade

I don't judge those who choose real though

Great points ladies!! I think you are convincing me to suggest man-made instead of regular diamonds as an option, (when that time comes )

Are there any jewelry stores that offer man-made diamonds??? From what I have seen they are only online...

I mean if you dont mind either way, why not save some $$$

As far as chain stores, not that I know of. In Michigan there is one lab where they make the diamonds and then an adjacent store. I dont know how commonplace that is though.

I love wearing a natural diamond. There is something so special to me about wearing something that was created naturally in the earth thousands, hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years ago.

I don't consider lab-created diamond to be not real, they are chemically identical to diamonds mined from the earth. And have much less of a bloody history. If I get another diamond I will be getting a lab-created one.
