    Marrying young?

I have noticed that there are more military SO's that marry young than on average for civilian couples.

    What's your intake on that?

I don't really have an opinion about it but I have always thought that as well.

i think its a combo of things...
the job is more dangerous in the event of a deployment.
being in the military can make you more mature and grow up faster.
and more money if you are married.

We got married young because we loved each other and didn't see the point in waiting. We knew it was the real deal and I don't like to let things pass me by b/c it's the right thing to wait etc. 9 years later, we're still going strong.

    Define "young."

I agree, and I have a lot of theories on it, but I'm curious if we are thinking of "young" as the same thing.

People get married at a young age for a lot of reasons.

My husband and I got married at 20. For us, we both knew that we didn't want to remain in an LDR for any longer than we had to. We had the support from both of our parents. Even though we only knew each other for a total of 8 months when we got married, everything was right for us, and that all that really mattered.

We will be celebrating 7 years in December.

I have realized that within the military, those who get married at a young age tend to divorce sooner. Sometimes that has to do with maturity?!...

For me young is under 25. And some of them just know they found the one that they will be with forever and ever and ever and ever and they will just simply D.I.E. without them. And some really have found the perfect mate regardless of anything.
