    Military relationship influences

    Advertisements
DB always talks about how most of the guys in his squadron are unhappily married, cheated/have been cheated on or are divorced. I read in another post about making friends with people in good relationships. Made me wonder about all that negative relationship energy surrounding DB... Do yall think the military divorce rates etc influence your SO's thoughts or actions?

I don't think it influences him in a negative way. He sees how some of the men get treated or whatever and he always tells me how happy he is to have someone like me. For divorce he is a little worried because a lot of people around him are divorced but that's why we aren't rushing into anything and we are waiting to see if we make it through a deployment before we get married. Also the people in his work center are all happily married and are really great guys and the wives are always really great.

No, it never has. Dh and I handle our marriage maturely. We communicate, we are honest and we both took our vows seriously. Has it always been easy, no. Has it been worth the struggle. You bet.

Haha, I love you Jayo. You're advice and relationship tips are great! The only reason I mention it was because DB has been cheated on in the past. He used to worry about us and me cheating, but I've been able to help him see the light, haha. He did make comments about how military members have the highest divorce rates and stuff, and he never wanted to get divorce if he gets married. Its hard to be surrounded by that kind of stuff and stay positive I guess

It's not hard when you know what you have at home is solid, loving, true and honest.

Respecting each other and your marriage yields rewards that most just can't fathom!

    Keep up the good work!

UGH, just noticed major typo... "Your" not "You're". I hate that grammatical error, lol.
