Catholic Weddings? - Love Shack

Hey girls....did any of you have a Catholic wedding? I'm Catholic, Jaymes is baptised, but not in the Catholic Church. I understand that you still have to go through the Pre-Cana classes, and I know there are rules for Catholic-Non Catholic marriages, but I can only find some rules, not all of them.

So, if your Catholic and your SO isn't (or vice versa) what was required for your wedding?

marriage prep at the church and really that's it. it depends on your diocese i'd ask them

We were married in a Catholic Church but we were both raised as Catholic so we had everything already and we did take the Pre Cana classes (we highly recomend it

i'm having a full catholic wedding (we both are). but my brother did the catholic, non-catholic thing. they had to do pre-cana & hold it in the church. you just have to make sure any songs or special touches are approved. they did not do the full-fledged mass, but i believe that was a personal choice. i really don't think there's much of a difference unless he wants his pastor/minister/rabi/whomever present as well as the catholic priest.

that's also right thanks jlbecker...you can't have communion during a inter-faith marriage in the church. you can have everything else...old, new and gospel readings, etc.

I'm Catholic, hubby is baptized Christian and we were going to have a church wedding and still might but it is 6 months notice (for any couple really) and as long as he baptized there really isn't THAT much besides the notice.

Thanks girls! I had planned to skip the communion part anyway. Can I still lay the flowers at the feet of the Virgin if we don't do a mass?
