What is your favorite design for an engagement ring?

I spent forever agonizing over this once the DB told me he was saving, and ultimately wound up deciding on old faithful - the classic Tiffany & Co setting. I have to admit, I am a little obsessed.

But in the process I saw lots of really interesting designs, some of which involved colored stones, bands with designs in them, and really interesting diamond cuts, among other things. So the question stands ladies - What is your favorite design and why?

(This applies whether or not you have a ring of your own just yet )

Yeah, you know I am a thrifty little girl, but DB insisted that this was something that had to be splurged on, and I guess the standard is what 1-2 months salary? Which is a pretty considerable chunk of change as far as I am concerned!

At any rate, I don't necessarily mean it has to be a Tiffany's ring (though I certainly wouldn't protest too much ) but I really just like the simplicity of a silver/platinum band, single stone ring. Seems to represent unity, and strength to me.

I went antique and I am glad I did. I can't even find a ring similar to mine while searching rings online.

I absolutely love this ring, but I would never want someone to spend this much on a ring. I'd rather put the money toward a house.

Yeah, my original thought was 3 stone, and I really liked the idea of having red stones (maybe sapphires) on the sides, but I changed my mind somewhere into the third or fourth day of continuous internet browsing... For some odd reason, the way those rings looked didn't relate emotionally to how I feel about him, and so I wasn't drawn to them anymore. One of those mysteries of human emotion I guess. Weirddddd

P.S. - Those antiques are gorgeous! Wish I could see a pic the too-unique-for-the-internet one... Do you have one?
