Promise Ring - Love Shack

This is really cheesy... but....

On my birthday (April 29th)

DB gave me a Claddagh Ring as a promise ring

It was so sweet...

He actually got down on one knee (

)
And then went on to say
"I want to make a promise to you
That i will always honor you, that i will always be faithful to you,
and that we will always be the best of friends
Give me and us some time to learn this whole Navy life
and if you are still willing
And if you still love me, I will marry you
I love you and I never want to loose you"

I love him so much...
I havent shared this with my family
and I probably wont, they dont really seem think of our
relationship as anything more than just a "high school thing"
I just wanted to share with someone
I've been so happy I felt like I'm gonna burst if i didnt share

I'm just so happy right now

I love him

awww that is soo awesome! i love the Claddagh Ring! my mom gave me one when i was younger in gold and for christmas i gave db one in white gold so we match. i just love the history behind the symbol and im irish so it fits.

i gave him one for our anniversary
and i told him the history of it

He loved the fact that it meant so much to me
and me being so into my celtic heritage

That's SO sweet! I didn't really tell my parents right away either when I got a promise ring, and that's when I was a senior in college, so I totally understand. Just take your time and let them know how happy you are when you do tell them.

I dont think its cheesy. My Robbie gave me a promise ring for Christmas right after our year anniversary.

That was sweet - not cheesy at all! My DB gave me his Claddagh ring a few months ago - he bought is from Ireland last year. It's my pre-engagement ring. I love the meaning behind it. Sounds like you have yourself a good guy!
