    Question Renewing vows

    Advertisements
After you renew vows, do you celebrate 2 anniversaries? Just celebrate your wedding date? Or just celebrate the renewal date?

    1. My parents renewed their vows for their 25th anni, a week before their anni date.

I think it's the same for birthdays. If you celebrate your b-day NOT on your birthdate, do you(gen u) celebrate 2 birthdays?! kwim?!

We are planning on renewing our vows on our 10-year wedding anniversary, so we'll still be celebrating the same date.

I have a friend who got married JOP and then had a real wedding a few months later. They celebrate BOTH dates.

We got married via JOP, then had our wedding 3-weeks later...but we still only celebrate the actual day we got married by the JOP since that's our true marriage date.

We got married by JOP and we are planning on renewing our vows 5 years later on the actual day that we wanted to get married in the first place. But we will be celebrating both because the JOP wedding is the one our family celebrate and send stuff to us.

We renewed our vows the summer of our 15th year of marriage. It wasn't on our actual date and we only celebrate our actual anniversary.
