Time - Long Distance Love

I really just need to vent about my long distance DB. My DB does not understand the time and work that needs to go into a LDR to make it work. We both have time to talk and have cell phones and we still only have a real conversation about every other week. Yes we text each other but everyone knows a text is nothing compared to a genuine conversation with the person you love. Even if we plan time to talk as soon as there is another person around it is like he forgets I am on the phone and starts talking to the person in front of him.

My DB is an immediate response person and lives in the moment and I know he would prefer talking in person over the phone any day. But who wouldn't! That doesn't mean you need to ignore me on the phone if someone else is standing by.

Thank you for listening I just got frustrated this morning when my DB and I had scheduled our first skype date, then a friend came in and asked DB to go to breakfast, and he was out the door.

I know he loves and cares about me, he just doesn't quite get it.

Men can be very clueless sometimes. And they are not mind readers nor are we. If you dont tell them exactly how you feel they wont know and they wont try and fix whats wrong. If df does something I dont like I tell him and he trys to change it and vise versa.

Have you told him how you feel? I was in a LDR with my now husband for two years, and we would not have made it if we didn't have such open communication.

Does he have a really odd work schedule or extraneous factors that would cause him added stress? Maybe that's why?

I agree you need to tell him that you are not happy and that it really hurt you when he skipped out with his friend.

Thank you everyone for reading and for the advise. I have talked to DB and every night since he has gone and stood outside of his barracks to talk to me alone. He is great and yeah I just needed to get over keeping it in and telling him. Thanks
