Back in the states harder then Iraq
Well my DB has been home since mid July. He was deployed for 15 months and of course it was really hard. When he came home we were able to spend a little over a month together, then he had to head back to TX where he is stationed. For some reason I find coping with him being gone so much harder this time. I have been out to TX once and he has come home once since he reported back. Every time I say goodbye I get stuck in this rut for about a week and I'm just sad for that whole time. I've cried more since he's been home then the whole time he was deployed. We are able to talk all the time and text all through out the day, at night we get on skype so we can see each other and play games and have that extra interaction, where when he was in Iraq I would sometimes go days with out talking to him.
Has anyone else experienced this? I don't know if its because he's so close, yet so far, or what. I just want him back so badly and I miss him so much its overwhelming sometimes.

Yes I've experienced this. Sometimes when they are far away and you know you won't be able to talk to them, you reconcile that with yourself and go about your routine.
THEN, when they are still far away, but you can talk WHENEVER you want, it suddenly makes the distance feel unbearable. I don't know what to tell you other than, for me, it got better after while. It ebs and flows, but that's the thing with any LDR. |

When Nathan graduated from the Academy he had his 60 day leave, and he spent in in GA. I didn't see him for oh, a month and a half, and I delt with that just fine. Then, he came back for IFS. He was here for a month and just left again. I'm having a horrible time with it. I think it's just that your just more in love with him, he means that much more to you and it's harder to have him away.
That's how I feel, I just think we got so much closer in the past three months than we ever were when he was at the Academy. Distance does make the heart grow fonder.

I think its normal. You know he's within reaching point. You aren't allowed to go to Iraq... but you can go to Texas KWIM?

I went through that. DB wasn't deployed nearly as long, but once he was back and we were still LDR, it really ate at me for the first few months.
After a while though, I was able to get back into the routine a bit. So hang in there!
