So I think Im gonna hang here a while... - Long Distance Love

I have been bouncing all over this site trying to figure out where I fit in. DF is technically on a DET, but its three years long overseas. that seems more deployment, borderline stationed overseas... even though hes in a new country each year (he guards embassies). i feel like its a deployment but i cant call it that because i get corrected by him everytime i say that and im trying to get all these technicalities down haha. I have grown up around Marines and Sailors but before him, i thought "MSG" was just a food additive... now i know it also stands for Marine Security Guard. whole new set of rules. but i figure three years is long enough to land me in the long distance relationships forum.

getting to the point, i just wanted to say

to all of the people here in long distance relationships. im only 5 months into the long distance part of mine so i know its gonna get tougher.

I know for you the distance probably sucks but what a great job for him! My cousin works for the Dept. of State in the embassies that he guards.

So tell him I said thank you for keeping my favorite cousin safe (even though she's not in Holland right now but you know what I mean!)

This is the right forum for you to post away in. We're all here while our SOs are overseas but not deployed. DH is stationed in Italy but a month ago he was finishing up a 2 year tour in Germany including a 7-month deployment. We've been long distance since Jan 2008. We've only ever lived in the same state once when we were in 10th grade, so I guess you could say even our friendship was long distance for the last 12 years including the year that we dated.
