How to keep it Alive

ok so after 3 years of being apart and only seeing one another a few times out of the year we are getting really bored over the phone...

We do the webcam thing, phone sex, watch a movie together over the phone, play " would you ever" and a few other little games...

But what have you done to make talking on the phone not so redundant? We want to be w/each other and the only way is over the phone or internet... but if it gets boring we'll get off the phone and I get upset... it's a vicious cycle I would like to fix.

Hmm... We've gone a few days without speaking before.
Just to see what it was like. We both ended up missing each other way too much.

How about... sending him letters? Sending pictures?

My sister and I just recently started making videos to send to him. Silly ones when we're either at the park or even when my sister is practicing her instrument. It helps.

I am in the same situation except I have been doing it for 2 and a half years and have 13 months left(not that I am counting) but we try to see each other every other month....that makes it a lot easier. We switch purchasing plane tickets and being able to look forward to seeing each other really helps.

We have webcam dates. We play guess who (he has the other half of the board and half of the cards. I don't like not talking either, we talk every day somtimes twice a day (before and after he goes to work) We do sometimes not have anything to talk about but we can always find something. Talk about your memories together and things you did in the day. Everyday we try to find a story to tell each other. Writing things down during the day to tell him really helps.

we are the same way, we try not going more then 2 months at a time from seeing one another... if we can help it, sometimes the military sux ass and it does not work out that way lol.

we are in the same situation...we have been dating for almost 5 yrs not LDR. our life has been shared mostly through the phone and internet. there are times where we would be on the phone but would be doing our own thing (we both have wireless mics) but knowing that he is there is comfort enough. like your SO my DB also said "why do i have to write it all down when i can tell you myself on the phone when i talk to you". so i stopped sending him letters and cards and he noticed it so i told him that if it is not reciprocated then there is no motivation for me to keep doing it so since then he has been pretty good in sending back. we send each other silly things like a leaf, a stone, a clipping from a newspaper, anything that we think would be interesting. we both send each other links of places we can go to or places we can make plans to go to, then we both talk about things we would do. Have you tried those Mad Lib books with the fill in the blanks? They are fun and cheap, and can get pretty funny sometimes!
