I got this off online, and it works like a charm!
What you need:
baking soda
vinegar
kettle of boiling hot water
Stopper
This is what I did: dump about 3/4 cup of baking soda into the drain (be sure to take the plug off (unscrew plug), and dump this in. I had to shove the baking soda in with my fingers so I could pour in more because DH wasn't home to help me (the screws refused to come out).
Next, get your stopper ready because its going to be a quick 1-2 BAM!. I kept mine in my left hand ready to smash down. Take your vinegar and pour it in quick as much as you can (1/2 cup) before it starts to react with the baking soda (you want to keep the chemical reaction they make inside: it helps dissolve all the residue and hair and whatnot.) SLAM that stopper down quick, don't let it escape!!(Of course, this would be the part DH came in on laughing like a banshee...)
Let sit like that for about 30 minutes...after this time has passed, go ahead and dump that kettle of boiling water down the drain (this gets the excess vinegar and baking soda and stick it down the drain.)
I try to do this about once every week to two weeks along with my more heavy duty monthly cleanings. I wouldn't recommend this for a completely stopped up drain, however for ones slowing down, this is just right!
