Is anyone else going to be shopping for green toys/gifts and aiming for buying from indie and/or local chains/stores this winter? I was thinking we could share ideas for having a more green holiday season.

I'm going to try to make gifts this year again..
One of the guys that DH works with just finished bottling this years maple syrup. We buy it for $5 a pint.. I'm going to have DH pick up about 10 more pints this week, then I'm going to cut fabric squares to put under the jar's collars and decorate the jars..
I have to put one together by Wednesday, it's our Pastor's FILs B-day and I want to give him a jar. He's turning 95.

YES. I'm starting early this year so I can get crafty. I'm still in the thinking phases though

Here another link for a fair trade site, they have some really great products that help people in developing countries make income and some are even made from recycled materials so it's like killing two birds with one stone.

I'm going to try! The only things on Molly's list will be green toys... NOTHING plastic or requiring batteries.
We usually make our Christmas gifts, too, so that is what I am planning on this year.
I make candy, dipped pretzels, popcorn cakes, and Hot Chocolate mix... I make family baskets with that and give usually.
Last year I gave cases of Oranges... GOOD oranges!
I love homemade gifts... We bought a lot of stuff in Italy for people already... but we buy ornaments for people from Ten Thousand Villages, a fair trade store. They have awesome stuff.
