most beans will need a trellis or something to grow on...and you can plant lettuce in planters so im not sure about that.

I would just make sure you read what the beans and lettuce say on their instructions!

You can also plant bush beans and not have to worry about a trellis.
Plant a new plant every week, that way you'll always have beans.

I find lettuce does best in containers, easier to keep contained.

thank you!!! i have some containers that i was going to start them in so they could get growing. lettuce needs cool weather. i'm just waiting for it to be sunny so i can actually plant them not in the rain lol

we always planted beans that grew on a low bush -- string beans. they were green or yellow. We never planted climbing beans -- i think it depends what kind you have
