Do you recycle?

I figure it's about time to start..

since I'm a bit of a recycling newbie, I need some input...

how do you do it?? how do you split it up??

we recycle but it is all picked up now in one large container we used to seperate it.

we had one small bin for paper, cardboard, foam boxes etc...

in another container we had glass and plastic

and in another container we had aluminum

we just seperated as we went i hated though when we had to do it i like it much better now that we have two trash cans instead of 4 or 5 one for recycles and one for trash.

We always recycle. My kids are really into it. We have a tall bin that has 5 drawers. They put coke cans in one, plastic coke bottles in one, newspaper in one and cardboard in another. Then anyother can like veg. they put in one. We take ours to the recycle plant and the money they get is "Fun Money" for them. That is there money to do with want they want. My kids love to recycle. They get upset when they see people not recycling. We also don't use plastic bags from the stores anymore. We have our own canvas bags that go with us to the stores.

i've recycled since college. when i lived in seattle, they had co mingled recycling, so everything went into one bin. super easy. we could put our food waste into our yard waste bin to go for compost too. now i'm living in a different city, & currently they just have 1 & 2 plastic, paper, glass & metal recycling & it has to be sorted. on Jan 1 the city is starting a new waste & recycling contract & i'll be able to go back to co mingling. since it's just me, i have a paper box i put all my recyling in & i sort it into the bins on the street.

We have to, but we're kind of bad at it. We recycle cardboard, and glass. Everything else goes into the trash can

Yes, I don't split it up though. I let them handle it. But then again, the city of Portsmouth has a huge metal container, and with the workforce around here, it doesn't hurt to give them a little more work to do.

But when in FL and Ga, I would separate aluminum in one bag, steel cans in another, plastics in their own bag, and cardboard/newspaper into another, but divided, because they had their own drop.

we do but we only recycle cans, bottles and plastic and take it to the recycling center and get the money

We live off base in Germany, we have to recycle everything. If we're really lazy we will put everything in one bag and take it to the base recycling center. They have people there who sort through all of the garbage. But everything here is recycled.
