    i don't understand... who is he? why was he pretending to be dead before he actually was? or was that like a "just in case" letter?

    oh, omg, i remember now... i remember when his family was struggling with the gov't and media for it to come to light that he was killed by friendly fire.
    that's very sad how wonderful for his wife to have that letter though.

    yeah, they have to write those letters before a deployment "just in case".... dh has had to write a few but the dets never had to use but just one due to a heart attack in Iraq. have no clue what was in there but yeah, it caught me off guard when he said he wrote one to each of us four.

    I'm pretty sure I'd be an emotional wreck if I read that book. Jason said one of the best feelings ever was being able to burn his death letter to me when he got home.
