When I first started dating my DH I was a bit embarrassed how we met and didn't tell anyone...but now that we are happily married I don't mind telling the story so much!

DH's sister met her fiance on eHarmony, as far as I know she's been totally open about it with everyone. I don't think it's really something to be ashamed of these days, it's really quite common.

I was embarrassed and made up this thing that DH had been in Sweden and we met at a bar etc. and then he met my family and they said something like "you must have liked it since you came back" and he completely blanked and said "what, I have never been here before" . A little akward for 5 minutes. After that, I always told the truth

A lot of people in my life, when I told them I was dating someone (and then we got married) after meeting them on Myspace (a couple of years ago), were pretty okay with it. If people had something negative to say, they didn't tell me.

I met my DB online and the beginning I would just tell people I met him through a friend. My sister and my best friend were the only ones who really knew how I met him in the beginning. When I finally toward my parents how I met him, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. They really didn't seem to care lol.

Now, it doesn't bother me when I tell people.

I met DH from myspace. I told my parents that we first started talking online but that we had mutual friend who vouched they we were both legit. Definitely not how it happened. DH thought I was cute so he messaged me and started a conversation. I thought he was gorgeous so I continued said conversation one thing led to another and 8 months we were married with a baby following a year after that.

ETA now that we've been married for almost 2 years and things are going really well we're open about how we met.

Jake and I met on CraigsList.

I was a little embarrassed at first - but whatever. Everyone does it now.
