I talked to him on IM... - Life After Love

He emailed me tonight. Which in turn lead to an IM convo. I think he is suffering from some serious PTSD. He sounds utterly depressed and just sad.

The convo was good. We both got to express alot of feelings that weren't in the light. I got the closure I needed. He told me he is trying to deploy. It just makes me so sad that he feels he would be happier back in Iraq. We decided we are still going to be friends, and im ok with that. I feel so much better, like I can finally breathe.

I told him I would always be here for him if he ever needed a friend. One of my best qualities, is that I don't hold grudges. I honestly feel in my heart that I can finally be at ease.

I'll be his friend, im woman enough to do that. I don't have any anger towards him, finally. I made the point that he hurt me more than he could ever imagine, and he appoligized.

Im just very thankful I finally got the closure I needed, and I can be a friend to him, hes having such a rough time with everything. Im just glad im a big enough person to be able to talk to him like we talked.

You know.. I just found myself caring if he was ok or not. I forgot all the bad stuff, and I was just concerned about his well-being. When he said he was going to go, I just simply said "Ok, take care of yourself and it was really good to hear from you"... I was very proud, I didn't fall all over myself and get upset. I told him it stings, but it stings less everyday. Which is totally true. I don't have any ex's that im on bad terms with, and I didn't want it to be all bad in the end. I did love him whole-heartedly and I always will so I don't wish bad for him. Im just so glad I can forgive, and hopefully be a good friend.

Well I can say without a doubt that you are a much better woman than me Tiff. I hold grudges forever! I am still mad about things that happened 4 years ago!
