so I'm guessing i won't have any major adjustments with him aside from maybe some tantrums that I can't fix since I'm not Daddy hopefully he'll still know and want him when he gets home

Thanks for sharing your experiences, ladies!

Our oldest son was 7 months old when my husband left on his last deployment, honestly you shouldn't notice to much of a difference. I think the hardest part was bedtime, we always put the kids to bed together, so it was weird for Mommy to be doing it instead (he had been going through underpays A LOT!) Make sure you get recordable books, daddy doll, those are what really helped my son!

Thanks! We have a couple of books. I need to print a picture for his Daddy doll. I've been doing bedtime by myself for a while so that shouldn't be too bad. He's acting totally normal so far, but DH just left. Hopefully it keeps up!
