    broke my heart...

My daughter is 2. She is not DB's biological daughter but she may as well be, he loves her like his own and vice versa. Nonetheless, she knows him by his first name. Shortly after he left, I was sitting on her little bed with her, getting her jammies on, and I was wearing his dog tags tucked into my shirt. She saw the chain, and said "What's that, Mommy?" I pulled them out and said they were his. She thought for a second then asked me to take them off and put them on her, so I did. And she just sat there for a while playing with them and saying his name. She wouldn't let me take them off her, she wanted to go to sleep with them on. And I just lost it, I couldn't help crying. I know it's something simple but it really hit home.

Awww, that's sweet. Kids say and do things that can just sometimes because you know they come from a very innocent place.

I think I would have cried too. Kids don't have that filter between their hearts and their mouths like we seem to. Sometimes I wonder why we let our filters become permanent blocks when children can so easily say something that will automatically just melt your heart.

DH: Thank you. ME: For what, babe? DH: For being you.

awwwww what a doll baby. Its rough on the little ones who just dont quite get it.
Everything in the U.S. Navy is set in stone. What they fail to mention is the stone is more of a not yet set jello like substance.

Aww yeah that would get to me too.

My son kept asking for a couple weeks when my "friend is coming home so we can go see him and play Disney Pixar's UP?". When I met DB, he bought my DS UP! to play on his xbox while he was at formation and PT and stuff, so he wouldn't get too bored. Every time he asked, I wanted to cry!
