    Building Father-Daughter Relationship

    Advertisements
I'm 20 yrs old and realizing I'm indifferent to my father. :/ When he's not home I don't miss him anymore, I've become accustomed to his absense, and it bothers me.

    Anyways, for my question.

What do you all do with your kids to help them create bonds with deployed fathers? Whether your kid is 5months or 15 years what do you do?

As of right now next Sat. my mom, dad, and I are going to a paint-a-piece-of-pottery place, and I'm gonna see how that goes.

I'm thinking of maybe a few lunch dates too.

I did not grow up with a military father, but I always LOVED father-daughter dates. One of my favorite memories was when we went to an old fashioned burger joint for lunch and ice skating afterwards.
Maybe encourage them to write to eachother while he's gone?

I know my dad traveled a lot when i was younger and still does even now and i don't get to see my parents a lot since they live in another state.
One thing i do is i have kind of gotten into one of my dads hobbies which is going to the gun range. I try to do that with my dad at least once everytime i am home. Its probably one of my favorite things to do with him too.
