My two year old!
My two year old daughter her daddy has been gone on and off for a year now. We skype him on the computer so she can know who he is. She has always been daddys little girl even when he was gone. We look at pictures and talk about him as much as possible. Sometimes she cries for him and wants nothing to do with me. I just didn't know that at her age she would understand. That she would know daddy's not around. I do my best with her that I can, but I know that she needs him. She's been sick, very sick the last couple of days and I could just see it on her daddy's face that it just broke his heart that he couldn't be here to comfort her. Its breaks my heart!

They know whats going on for the most part at 2... I have a 2 and 3 yr old, daddy's deployed every year since they were born (before even)... Its an adjustment, but they will be ok.. i promise. Your doing the right thing, with skype, pictures, ect ect... Maybe have daddy send her a special bear or something if he can.. from him... that smells like him..?? When my DD was 3 months old (the now 3 yr old) she wouldnt sleep after he left, unless I put one of his shirts in her crib.. they know the smell of their daddy, maybe that would help her a little..?

She has a little Marine Corp bear that she got when she was 11 months old at his graduation from Basic Training. Then we got her another one a few months later when we went to visit him while he was going to infantry school at Camp Pendleton. My heck my little girl refuses to sleep in her own room and its drives me crazy, when her dads been home though he'll put her in there stay with her til she falls asleep and sleeps by herself all night. I guess he kind of just has the touch.

My daugher has been having a rough time since her dad left for his third tour. She will tell you that she is mad at dad and she wants him to come home. Bedtime has been the toughest part because she keeps waiting for her dad to come in and kiss her goodnight. It is just me and our daughter, so I trying to cope without any family support to help me out. Any advice would be welcomed!!
