Sleepless Girl - Kids Coping with Deployment

Dear Baby Girl,

You are 4 and i know how much you miss your daddy. I love you so much and it hurts because I see the toll this deployment is taking on Daddy's Girl, but will you please sleep? You are now in my bed tossing, turning and making me crazy. You have kicked me almost a dozen times in the past hour and we are in a King sized bed.

You have cried so much since January and it's killing me. I wish I could take your pain away. I wish I could bring Daddy back now just for you. I don't even want him home for me anymore, just you and your brothers.

I promise that not sleeping is not helping. You need to sleep. You have barely slept in weeks. Please sleep.

She's still awake. She started crying again and asked for something to eat. So I got her some Cheerios. She HAS to go to sleep soon. We have to get up early for school in the morning.

I feel ya girl. Sorry you are going through that. My son just started that SAME thing about a month ago. Daddy has been gone since April and mommy was in hospital for a couple days so I think he is just scared now but everything you typed is what goes on with my everynight as well. I hope it gets better for you and your family.

Thank GOD this deployment is almost over. I just got her sleeping back in her own room last night. She wasn't happy about it at 1st, but I think she'll be okay. The kids are so excited about him coming home soon that they are looking to make me happy in any way possible, kwim?

Try something warm, like warm milk and you could put just a lil tiny bit of chocolate in there for taste.....she needs comfort food too Mama.
