Great Idea - Hug a Hero Doll
Hello ladies. My mother in law just gave my daughter the best present and wanted to share it with other military moms! It's a "hug a hero" doll. You can send in any picture and they will put it on the front of a doll for your children to cuddle and hug! It's the cutest thing. You can also go to build a bear and get a voice box and insert it in a pocket on the back with a recorded message from your loved one. So it's just like they are hugging their daddy/mommy.
Here's the site! http://www.hugahero.com/index.php It is really the best idea! My Mackenzie just loves it.

We are going on a pre-deployment retreat next weekend and all the kids there get one from the officer spouses club (no voice recorder though, we have to get them seperate, but hey)

My kids each got one from dad this Christmas and my 6 yr old and 8 yr old now refuse to sleep without it! They are wonderful. We got the voice recorder for them too. So I hear my husband's voice EVERY night (for several minutes!! hehe) telling each one a personal message. It's soo wonderful.
Also what is etsy??

If that's weird, then I'm weird right along with you cause I'm getting one of my husband who's deploying in January. Last year I got just a pillowcase one of him when he was supposed to deploy. This year I wanted a "daddy doll". My husband didn't want to do it and was all embarrassed when he had to stand there and get his pic taken for it, but he did it for me cause I wanted it awww
