My Baby Boy Turns One! - Kids Coping with Deployment

A special day for us, my baby boy turned one yesterday.

Unfortunately my husband is not here to see it. But we joke that's he's equal opportunity, since he also missed my daughters first birthday 4 years ago. I'm just really happy and proud of my big boy and sad for my husband and children in the same breath. How hard it must be as a father to not only miss one first birthday, but the second child's first as well. Those are moments you can never get back and I know he's really sad about it.
