The online MCX has the Ninja on sale for $79.99 right now. The Vitamix is $399.99.
Is the Vitamix really worth all that money? I want to make almond and coconut milk, so I need something strong. Will the Ninja do it?

I love my vitamix. So worth it. The Ninja can do some things, but the vitamix does it better lol.
I found this... the showdown between the V and N https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWb41309PuI
DH and I talk about blenders a lot...you've basically just got the motor (power, and quality) and the blades that make the difference between working well and not. We were gifted a Ninja, and it impressed me with how it can chomp ice and make smoothies akin to jamba juice consistency. However, I don't have an expectations as for how long the motor will be able to do that. I think that's a big difference in blender prices...how long before it burns out. But just as a basic check, I'd for sure look to see if they are the same power motor, it's a starting point at least to see if you want to give the Ninja a try.
For your purposes you'd be better off with a vitamix. The ninja is a good product but i think that's a little too intense for it. Also we sell both at my job and people always tell me how they've had a vitamix for like 20+ years and they're only buying new ones cause they like the way they look or they're buying them as gifts. The ninja doesn't have that kind of longevity.
Vitamix. Costco version.
