    Neutral swiffer wet mop

    Advertisements
So ever since I moved into this house (all hardwood floors/linoleum) I've swiffered dust mopped and wet mopped every weekend. Well, I spilled some laundry soap the other day and realized that the floors aren't clean. They look great, but now that I'm in the middle of mopping them with a REAL mop I'm seeing a BIG difference. I won't stop using the wet mop, but I'm going to start using the real mop probably once a month or so to prevent this.

The girl I sit next to at school only uses these too, so I thought I would pass on this on. The floors still look fine and they don't look dirty until you start cleaning them.

Yep! I stopped using a Swiffer mop a long time ago. I mean, they're great for in-between deep mopping, but to REALLY clean the floors, one would need to use like 2 entire boxes of the cleaning pads and 2 bottles of solution. LOL!

I seriously had no idea. I thought they were like all hunky dory and then I have a laundry detergent issue and realized that they weren't. I knew easy was too good to be true!

the swiffer mops are definitely good for inbetween cleaning and small spills, but you need to mop with a real mop every once in a while....

my mom also swears by the shark steam cleaner thing....

My parents have one of those steam mops and they work amazingly well

I have a Swiffer mop and it definitely doesn't do as good of a job as I'd like Time to upgrade...

I have a steam mop, not that brand, and love it, it's amazing how much it does pick up and it naturally sanitizes, too. I used four mop cloths on the mop when we moved in our house, the first one being nearly black with dirt on a floor that appeared clean then the last one barely gray so I knew the floor was getting clean. With regular use, the floors are really clean. I also love that the cloths are reusable, just toss them into the washing machine.

That's how all the swiffer products are. They're fast, and work(ish) but they aren't permanent solutions for a long term clean. Even with the swiffer sweeper I still need to go over with a broom or vacuum on occasion. The wet mop more or less spreads the dirt so that it's less visable.

Steam mops are just as easy, and actually work.

    be cool.

Also, I'm not sure if it does anymore, but the solution used to contain formaldehyde!
