How often do you clean the inside of your washer?

    Advertisements
I use the affresh tablets once a month and run a bleach cycle with hot water every Sunday. I'm wondering if I should start using the tablets twice per month....I hate the smell of a yucky washer!! If you don't use these methods how else do you clean the inside of your washer?

Also, do you use a wetmop or dry mop and which do you think is best?

I feel like I'm always talking about cleaning things on here the truth is I get wastey face on the weekends and start cleaning my house

Neither. Is that a thing? I had some Affresh tablets that came with my machine but I used them already. My washer just smells like nothing.

I use a steam mop and love it.
Never do anything halfway unless you want to be half happy.

Is this a dream? If it is, please don't wake me from this high. I'd become comfortably numb
until you opened up my eyes to what it's like when everything is right...I can't believe you found me ♥

I use the Tide brand washer cleaner about once a month to every three weeks. With the boys and how much dirt, like literal dirt, they bring in from playing outside these days, I'm about to start doing it every two weeks just because they're so gross

Front load washer? I do a load with white vinegar.
Top load washers generally don't need to be washed.

I just cleaned mine tonight. I run a hot water cycle with baking soda and ammonia or white vinegar. Those washer cleaning tablets are pricey so I haven't tried them yet. I do so much cleaning I try to be thrifty with cleaning supplies.

Yuppers it's a front load washer. The affresh tablets aren't too bad I think I paid $8 for a 6 month supply.

I just read about using vinegar in the washer so I may try it!! Whit I'm going to have to try your way also!

I haven't yet; but, I use to do the Tide ones when I thought about it.

I use vinegar in our rinse cycle for a fabric softener and that helps a lot.

Never. I have literally never cleaned the inside of any of my washers. For our front loader in Germany, if the seal got a touch of funk on it I would wipe it with a Clorox wipe. But I never cleaned the part where the clothes go.

Does this mean I'm gross? It never even occurred to me that this is something people do!

Front loaders have a tendency to get nasty.

I'm super neurotic about mine. I pretty much clean out the gasket between every load (but we also wash the dog blankets a lot because I feel like it needs it). And the door gets wiped down with every load and it dries with the door open when we're done.

Every 2-3 weeks I run a clean cycle with white vinegar too. We've never had an odors but I get so paranoid about it.
