    Handmade blanket?

    Advertisements
I found a blanket that my grandma had made and it needs washed. Not sure how that should be done. I don't know what kind of yarn was used or anything like that I just don't want to ruin it.

Check to see if it has any loose ends or any thin spots. If it looks okay, what I do with all our old crocheted blankets is toss them in the washer on gentle, then let them air dry.

That's exactly what I was going to say, too.

Since you don't know what kind of yarn it is, you should handwash with room temp water and be careful not to handle it and squish it around while wet and then dry flat because in the event there is wool or wool blend, a washer will felt the fibers and distort and shrink the blanket.

Or take it to a dry cleaners and see what they say about it.

If you have a front load washer I would wash it on a gentle cycle in cold water and let it air dry

If you have a washer with the thingy in the middle then I would hand wash it

This is likely what I'll do. That should be free right?
