    Working on a quilt!

    Advertisements
I'm a novice sewer at best, but MIL bought me a machine a while back, so I thought I'd use it! Every now and then I'll do some shotty Jean repair job, or what have you, but nothing serious. After watching about 3 full days of youtube videos on sewing, I decided to give a Jelly Roll Race Quilt a shot! Looked mega easy and could be done quickly so it was for me.

Here it is. This is just the top. Still have to square it up, put a border on it, get batting, quilt the top to the batting, and bind it. Lots of work left to do.

My beds the only area large enough to lay it all out, so ignore that. The quilt top is a decent size though. I wouldn't say it'd fit a queen, but I'll make a nice lap blanket for sure

If anyone has any tips on how to square it up or binding, let me know because I need all the help I can't get! Thanks for looking.

I have some jelly rolls I need to do something with. The fun part is making the top. The rest sucks. Hence why I have a punk-esque quilt top sitting in my sewing room for a year now. I think I did flying geese pattern. For binding I really suggest buying the binding tape. I've done it with my own fabric and it's annoying as hell.

Yeah, I'm just gonna buy it. Maybe if I had a large space I'd do it myself, but working on our small breakfast table, makes things difficult. I'm far too lazy to sit there and struggle with ironing bias tape for 2 hours.
