How to get greasy dishes clean

I have no hot water heater right now

Is my only option to boil water? I wash dishes daily, and every greasy dish is becoming an issue because that grease is freaking hard to get off with out boiling water.

I never have an issue with dawn. A maybe change out your sponge? Or you can sanitize a sponge by microwaving it while it's damp for 2 minutes.

That might be part of it i guess. We use a natural kind, I worry about the dawn going into the septic and into the stream and killing all the fishes

I might try the dawn. I put my sponges in the washing machine along with all the kitchen towels on sanitize lol I am sponge crazy

Oh noooo! I hope that's not the case. I always thought dawn was safe since they use it to remove oil from animals affected by oil spills.
and I hear ya! There's nothing better than a clean sponge!

from what I recall from others who use the 'natural' dish soaps or the homemade kinds.. they don't remove grease.

Dawn is usually the best to get grease out. I only use Dawn, I won't use any other brand, its the only one that gets the dishes clean... IMO.

Isn't Dawn the soap that is used to clean animals after oil spills because it is gentle? Maybe it won't kill all the fishes. I use Dawn.

I just know you can't use dawn to clean your fish tank or it kills your fish.

The natural kind worked GREAT until the hot water died.

Yes hot water makes all the difference! When I have dishes with baked on cheese, I just soak them in hot water for a few minutes then the cheese comes off easily.

I would use a Hot Pot and just boil the water. After 4 years of not having hot water in the kitchen sink, it is NICE to have it back again.
