    Speakers!

    Advertisements
I'm looking into getting speakers, but I know absolutely NOTHING about sound systems.

Nothing too crazy, just some nice speakers for my one-bedroom apartment. I don't have a TV, so I'm not looking for surround sound or any of that. Just something to listen to music from, either on my own, or for parties.

I had a party on Saturday, and realized I didn't have any music/speakers

Hmmm... there's so many options! Sound bars, stationary speakers, speakers with docks... I would take a peek at the best buy website, they have a pretty good selection and recommendations.

Speakers & Speaker Systems - Best Buy

They even have a "speaker buying guide"

Are you going to have a separate amplifier?

Two options, the first is a little more complicated but you will get amazing sound.
get this: Amazon.com: LP-2020A+ Lepai Tripath Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Mini Amplifier with Power Supply: Electronics
    any speaker wire and these:
    6 1/2 Inches 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers (Pair) - Black - Monoprice.com

you will also need a stereo to rca split cable. similar to these: http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Prem...o+to+rca+cable but you can go cheaper if you want.

If you want a pair of powered computer speakers, logitech has a great speakers. I would avoid Bose. they are over priced for the quality. Monoprice also has fantastic, just about everything, and has them cheap!!
If you want my opinion on your relationship or life issues, just ask Villanelle!

The one thing I don't like about Bose is that they are almost one directional. You have to be standing at the exact perfect place for them to sound amazing (which they do,hands down) otherwise they don't sound very good.

Go to best buy and try out the different speaker systems.
