What should I do for bad water/ice?

Anyone living in Central Texas will know what I'm talking about here...

The water (and the ice) are DISGUSTING.

Anyone have any fixes? Water from the tap I can deal with. I have a water bottle with a filter that I drink from. No big deal.

It's the ice that's killing me. I like to drink sweet tea, soda, etc. and the ice makes it taste like crap.

    HELP.

Yeah, I have an ice tray in my fridge now but I was hoping there was some crazy way to get the fridge to just make nice tasting ice.

Does it really taste that bad? I've never lived anywhere else, I thought our water just tasted like... water

I hear ya, OP. The water here is crap too. We buy filtered water & I use that to fill the ice cube trays. No way would I use the ice maker in the freezer here. Crappy ice & it sounds like a truck is driving thru the house!

We have bad water here. We put a filter on the sink and I just use that filtered water to fill up the ice trays.
