    In love with the Kirby

    Advertisements
My parents house burnt down a few months ago due to wildfires. They lost one of the best vaccuums in the history of mankind.....The Kirby. After doing research, I found out that they could request a new kirby because they are covered under a fire protection. So to make a long story short, we recently received their new vaccuum in the mail (they have their big items shipped to our house bc they now live in our neighborhood and they travel alot so aren't always home). Well anyways, while my parents are out of town I've spent everyday finding a new use for their vaccuum. I've cleaned all of our window blinds, baseboards, mattresses, ceiling fans, entertainment center, air vents, light fixtures, etc. I've even shampooed our carpets with it! Now I'm decided that I NEED a friggin Kirby Vaccuum! Now to convince my hubby that it's okay to spend thousands of dollars on this dang cleaning machine! Please tell me that I'm not the only one obsessed with a cleaning machine!!

I've always wanted a Dyson, and then our buddy stayed with us for a few weeks when they got back from Iraq; and he had a Dyson. I NEED one.

    I totally get it. Haha.

I have always been intrigued by those. I heard they're very useful.

I just don't think it's in the cards for us though. No way in heck am I financing a vacuum cleaner of all things, and if I saved up thousands I would want to spend it on something else. Like a nice bed or a vacation.

Probably the most expensive I'd go in terms of a vacuum would be a Dyson.

I've been thinking of ways to convice my hubby so while he's playing on the computer or something, I'll whip out the vaccuum and start cleaning all different things...just to show him the many uses! HAHA!!!

I looked on craigslist and went to the kirby retailer in our town and they both have several newer models on sale for about $300 - $800. Granted they wouldn't be under warranty, but they really are life long machines. My parents bought theirs in 1995 and it worked perfect all the way until it burned in 2011. I hope I can talk DH into one for our anniversary, even a refurbished one would be great! LOL!!!!

I LOVE mine!!!!! The only draw back is that they are heavy but you can clean just about anything with them! I have only used my steam clean feature once in 10 years and have never used the wood floor cleaner.

I tried to talk my mom into just letting me keep hers at my house since they aren't home much but she wasn't having it. Ugh! LOL!!!!

We have an older Kirby. That sucker is HEAVY! But it works really well.
MS234755 and mxchick910 are my wifeys!
    I'm BiggyBiggs mistress!

    Not in cruelty,
    Not in wrath,
    The Reaper came today;
An Angel visited this gray path,
    And took the cube away.

I don't like our Kirby It's heavy, bulky, the attachments are frustrating...It sits in the closet and I just use a Bissel now.
